Crucial Installation Tips for 500mm Beds

• Avoid Air Bubbles: Because a 500mm surface area is massive, applying the magnetic backing or a raw adhesive sheet requires care.
• Roll it down slowly using a scraper or squeegee. If minor air bubbles form, use a large sewing needle to puncture them and press the trapped air out.
• Re-level and Reset Z-Offset: Adding a thick spring steel plate and a magnetic sheet will increase your overall bed thickness by roughly 1.5mm to 2mm. You must re-home your printer, adjust your Z-limit switch or sensor, and run a fresh bed leveling routine before your first print to prevent the nozzle from gouging the new surface.
• Proper Maintenance: Never use metal scrapers or harsh acetone on a PEI plate, as it can degrade or chip the coating. Clean the oil from your fingerprints off the bed using warm water, common dish soap, and a soft sponge.
