This IRF520 Mosfet Driver module is easy to hookup to your Arduino or the other 3-5V microcontroller. The module designed to switch heavy DC loads from a single digital pin of your microcontroller. Its main purpose is to provide a low cost way to drive a DC motor for robotics applications, but the module can be used to control most high current DC loads. Screw terminals are provided to interface to your load and external power source.
Programmable control boards often have limitations associated with the voltage and maximum operating current. It leads to impossibility of the direct connection of the devices with higher power consumption, for example, when we want to connect the LED strap powered with the voltage of +12 V of the pins to the Arduino, we can’t do it directly because of limitations of the voltage and current operation of the microcontroller. In this case, the executive systems with the power of transistor are used to control.
Note: Above 1A load, you need to install heat sink
Connection
The module has 7 pins:
- Gold pin connectors
- SIG: control signal
- VCC: powering of the logic part
- GND: ground
- ARK connectors :
- VIN: external power source from 0 V to 24 V
- GND: ground
- V-: negative pole of the controlled system
- V+: positive pole of the controlled system
