KY-013 NTC Thermistor Analog Temperature Sensor module has an NTC Thermistor and mounted on a breakout board with a 10K-ohm resistor. An NTC Thermistor is a Negative Temperature Coefficient resistor. This means that the resistance is inversely proportional to temperature. The resistance increases when temperature decreases and vice-versa.

Thermistors are temperature-sensing elements made of semiconductor material that has been sintered in order to display large changes in resistance in proportion to small changes in temperature.

KY-013 NTC Thermistor Connection: –

The module has a 3-pin header on the assembly for connections. The ‘-‘ pin is connected to GND, the center pin is connected to Vcc and the ‘S’ pin is connected to an analog input pin on the uC. If the output goes in the wrong direction i.e. resistance goes up as temperature goes up, reverse the power and ground pins.
